National Disaster Area Response Activation

The National FOP Disaster Area Response Team (DART) has been activated and will be deploying to Mayfield, Kentucky in the next 24-48 hours to provide rehab to the first responders in the community and remediation to first responders homes. This is still in the preliminary stages, so information is limited.
What you can expect to do as part of this response is general food preparation, cooking, and food service as well as responding to residences in the affected area to remove trees and debris from homes and apply tarps as well as other protections to these homes so that first responders in the area can continue to serve their community.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting.

The lodge served prime rib and smothered chicken with all the fixings. Great job and tasted very good. We will be back to steak and chicken in January 2022.

Our next meeting will be January 11, 2022.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode. We must follow the BOCC rules. The county just extended the order for 7 more day. We are hoping January 2022 will be a go.

The lodge served the traditional  turkey and ham dinner with all the fixings. Great job and tasted very good. We may change it up in December, but not sure.

We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode. We must follow the BOCC rules. The county just extended the order for 7 more day. We are hoping January 2022 will be a go.

Chef Chris did the cooking again, Brother George (Tampa #27) came over and helped us get a great meal out to everyone.

We will continue the “Social Gatherings” until further notice.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode. We must follow the BOCC rules, but we did serve over 50 dinners. Great turn out.

Gage and I were the cooks and no complaints. The steaks were great as usual.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode.

Although I was out of town, I had “Chef Chris” come in and cook the steaks. I did not hear any complaints, so maybe “Chef Chris” will continue to cook the steaks.

We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice. As you may have heard, the Tampa area has “sporadic spikes” and I do not want to be in a hurry to open for a full meeting.

We are getting closer to having a General Meeting, but I just do not know when it will be. We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice.

Special “shout out” to Recruit class 2005 and the Training Division. I spoke to the new recruits and the lodge took on 10 new members.

Although the Govenor has lifted various restrictions, there is still some confusion within the State of Florida as what to do.

We will continue our “Social Gathering” for the May 2021 gathering and I will make a determination as to June 2021 within the next month. I am not personally excited about just “going back to normal” based on the information I have.

I assure you that I will continue to monitor the situation and we will act accordingly.

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on April 13th.

The dinner was held and was very good. I guess just getting out of the house and being at the lodge seems to make the food taste better and being able to interact with friends and fellow co-workers feels good. The weather at the last couple of gatherings have been nice.

I have really enjoyed just tending the fire and making sure the steaks are cooked within reason. We are no way professional chef’s. If you ever feel the need to help out, please let me know as we always can use an extra cook or two.

I watch members arrive at the lodge around 5ish. I hear members talking about what is going on in their life, the good times and bad times “back in the day”. They are able to catch up with each other, enjoy a steak dinner and relax in a safe place.

We are getting closer to having a General Meeting. I know you hear me say that a lot, but we have to follow the rules. It is impossible to have a virtual meeting via zoom. We will continue the “social gatherings” until I get the green light from the county.
