July 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on July 13th.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode.

Although I was out of town, I had “Chef Chris” come in and cook the steaks. I did not hear any complaints, so maybe “Chef Chris” will continue to cook the steaks.

We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice. As you may have heard, the Tampa area has “sporadic spikes” and I do not want to be in a hurry to open for a full meeting.

Rest assured, I will keep you posted of any important updates that may arise.

Remember to look under the application section. This covers “218” for only $50.00.

Our next “social gathering will be August 10th.

Be safe, keep everyone in your prayers and be safe.

June 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on June 8th.

The dinner was held and there was not a meeting as we are still in “social gathering” mode.

We are getting closer to having a General Meeting, but I just do not know when it will be. We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice.

Special “shout out” to Recruit class 2005 and the Training Division. I spoke to the new recruits and the lodge took on 10 new members.

I want to extend a special thanks to Brothers Bennett and Clamon for showing up and helping me cook. Thanks much.

Our next “social gathering will be July 13th.

Be safe, keep everyone in your prayers and be safe.

May 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on May 11th.

The dinner was held and was very good and no complaints on the weather. It was really nice.

We are getting closer to having a General Meeting, but I just do not know when it will be. It is impossible to have a virtual meeting via zoom. We will continue the “social gatherings” until further notice.

I want to extend a special thanks to Brother Gage for showing up and helping me cook, or I help him cook. Either way, Thanks much

Our next “social gathering” will be June 8th.

Be safe, keep everyone in your prayers and be safe.

May 2021 “Social Gathering”

Although the Govenor has lifted various restrictions, there is still some confusion within the State of Florida as what to do.

We will continue our “Social Gathering” for the May 2021 gathering and I will make a determination as to June 2021 within the next month. I am not personally excited about just “going back to normal” based on the information I have.

I assure you that I will continue to monitor the situation and we will act accordingly.

April 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on April 13th.

The dinner was held and was very good. I guess just getting out of the house and being at the lodge seems to make the food taste better and being able to interact with friends and fellow co-workers feels good. The weather at the last couple of gatherings have been nice.

I have really enjoyed just tending the fire and making sure the steaks are cooked within reason. We are no way professional chef’s. If you ever feel the need to help out, please let me know as we always can use an extra cook or two.

I watch members arrive at the lodge around 5ish. I hear members talking about what is going on in their life, the good times and bad times “back in the day”. They are able to catch up with each other, enjoy a steak dinner and relax in a safe place.

We are getting closer to having a General Meeting. I know you hear me say that a lot, but we have to follow the rules. It is impossible to have a virtual meeting via zoom. We will continue the “social gatherings” until I get the green light from the county.

I want to extend a special thanks to Brother Gage for showing up and helping me cook, or I help him cook. Either way, Thanks……………

Our next “social gathering” will be May 11th.

Be safe and enjoy.

March 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on March 9, 2021.

The dinner was held and was very good. Although the Strawberry Festival was in full swing, we still ended up with 30ish members showing up for the dinner. We are getting closer to having a General Meeting. I can only hope the numbers keep declining so we can have a meeting.

I was able to meet with the LaVigne family and present the FOP bible and a check for $1,000.00 from the FOP District 3 Survivor’s benefits account.

Either way, we will always have the regular crowd that shows up no matter what which is good.

February 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on February 9, 2021.
The dinner was held and was very good. An accident cut power to the area and there was a long detour (Taylor Road was closed) for members trying to get to the lodge. We still ended up with 35 or so members attending the social gathering.
Our next “Social Gathering” will be on March 9th. If you feel good, bring some friends and come out. I hope to see you there.
If there are any new updates, I will get them posted asap.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.

January 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on January 12, 2021. I was hoping that everything would be back to normal and we could resume normal activity at the lodge. That was not the case, but we all made the best of it.
Everyone that showed up had a great time.. The bar was open for the meeting this month as some of the restrictions were lifted. The steak dinner is back and dinner was awesome.
Our next “Social Gathering” will be on February 9th. I hope to see you there.
If there are any new updates, I will get them posted asap.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.

January 2021 Social Gathering

As you well know, I had all intentions of everything being back to normal for the January 2021 General Membership Meeting.

Well, that is not going to happen and is beyond my control. With the most recent spikes in Covid-19 in the Tampa Bay area, I can not in good faith allow a General Membership Meeting to be held.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 12th. I am going to open the lodge for a “social dinner,” not a meeting for January 12th. Attendance is optional and will not count against a member for not attending. No lodge business will be discussed.

The food servers and anyone kitchen related will be required to wear a mask and gloves. Any member wishing to bring and wear a mask is acceptable. State and County Covid-19 safety orders will be enforced along with social distancing.

Dinner will still consist of steak, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs. just cut way down since it will be impossible to estimate how many members would actually come out. As of right now, the bar will be open and whatever safety orders that are required as of January 12th will be followed.

The Covid-19 rules will be posted and I expect everyone to follow the rules.

If you can please RSVP with Rebecca at 813-927-2355

Thanks
