March 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on March 9, 2021.

The dinner was held and was very good. Although the Strawberry Festival was in full swing, we still ended up with 30ish members showing up for the dinner. We are getting closer to having a General Meeting. I can only hope the numbers keep declining so we can have a meeting.

I was able to meet with the LaVigne family and present the FOP bible and a check for $1,000.00 from the FOP District 3 Survivor’s benefits account.

Either way, we will always have the regular crowd that shows up no matter what which is good.

February 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on February 9, 2021.
The dinner was held and was very good. An accident cut power to the area and there was a long detour (Taylor Road was closed) for members trying to get to the lodge. We still ended up with 35 or so members attending the social gathering.
Our next “Social Gathering” will be on March 9th. If you feel good, bring some friends and come out. I hope to see you there.
If there are any new updates, I will get them posted asap.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.

January 2021

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on January 12, 2021. I was hoping that everything would be back to normal and we could resume normal activity at the lodge. That was not the case, but we all made the best of it.
Everyone that showed up had a great time.. The bar was open for the meeting this month as some of the restrictions were lifted. The steak dinner is back and dinner was awesome.
Our next “Social Gathering” will be on February 9th. I hope to see you there.
If there are any new updates, I will get them posted asap.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.

John Couey

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of HCSO Master Corporal Brian LaVigne, killed in the line of duty on Monday, January 11, 2021. While assisting his fellow deputies on a call for service, an individual fleeing from deputies struck his vehicle, taking his life.

Master Corporal Brian LaVigne was a member of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Fraternal Order of Police since 2003.

January 2021 Social Gathering

As you well know, I had all intentions of everything being back to normal for the January 2021 General Membership Meeting.

Well, that is not going to happen and is beyond my control. With the most recent spikes in Covid-19 in the Tampa Bay area, I can not in good faith allow a General Membership Meeting to be held.

The next meeting is scheduled for January 12th. I am going to open the lodge for a “social dinner,” not a meeting for January 12th. Attendance is optional and will not count against a member for not attending. No lodge business will be discussed.

The food servers and anyone kitchen related will be required to wear a mask and gloves. Any member wishing to bring and wear a mask is acceptable. State and County Covid-19 safety orders will be enforced along with social distancing.

Dinner will still consist of steak, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs. just cut way down since it will be impossible to estimate how many members would actually come out. As of right now, the bar will be open and whatever safety orders that are required as of January 12th will be followed.

The Covid-19 rules will be posted and I expect everyone to follow the rules.

If you can please RSVP with Rebecca at 813-927-2355

Thanks

December 2020 Social Gathering

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on December 8th. All social distancing procedures were followed. The lodge manager continues on making sure all of the surface areas, common contact areas, and basically the whole lodge is wiped down soon as she arrives at the lodge. Rebecca is definitely making sure your lodge is disinfected. Mask are not required but optional. Outdoor seating is always available.

Everyone that showed up had a great time. It was a good turn out. The lodge lounge was open without restrictions. This year, a smoked ham was added to the turkey and baked ham dinner. Great job to the staff that prepared the dinner.

I plan on having a regular meeting in January 2021, but that will depend on the CDC and Hillsborough County. All I can do is keep everyone posted as to what we are going to do that is allowed by the state and county. It has been a challenge to make sure the members and guest are being protected to the best of our ability but at the same time, making sure everyone has a great time. I can only hope that we will not be restricted in January 2021.

The meeting will be January 12th for the regular meeting of General membership, door prizes and 50/50. We can only hope for the best.

I hope that will can get back on track in January 2021.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers in this difficult time.

Happy Holidays to everyone

John Couey

November 2020 Social Gathering

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on November 10th. All social distancing procedures were followed. Rebecca continues on making sure all of the surface areas, common contact areas, and basically the whole lodge is wiped down soon as she arrives at the lodge. Rebecca is definitely making sure your lodge is disinfected.

Everyone that showed up had a great time.. The bar was open for the gathering this month and “Chef Bill” did an exceptional job in taking care of the ham and turkey dinner.

I plan on having a “social gathering” for the December gathering. I plan on following our traditional ham and turkey dinner on December 8th. It has been a challenge to make sure the members and guest are being protected to the best of our ability but at the same time, making sure everyone has a great time. I can only hope that we will not be restricted.

I have all intentions of opening the lodge on January 12th for the regular meeting of General membership, door prizes and 50/50. I anticipate the lodge being fully operational by January 2021. We can only hope for the best.

I hope to see you on December 8th….

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on October 13th. All social distancing procedures were followed. Rebecca has done a great job on making sure all of the surface areas, common contact areas, and basically the whole lodge is wiped down soon as she arrives at the lodge. Rebecca is definitely making sure your lodge is disinfected.

Everyone that showed up had a great time.. The bar was open for the gathering this month as some of the restrictions were lifted.

Your Executive Board will remain the same. I have appointed Brother Iverson as Secretary and Brother Paige will remain as Inner Guard and assume the duties of the Chaplains position. Brother Richard Smith (Chaplain) and Brother Tiller (Secretary) have moved and are no longer part of the Executive Board.

I have all intentions of opening the lodge on January 12th for the regular meeting of General membership, door prizes and 50/50. I anticipate the lodge being fully operational by January 2021. We can only hope for the best.

September 2020

I hope this finds everyone doing well. The lodge held a “social gathering” on September 8th. All social distancing procedures were followed.

Everyone that showed up had a great time with no complaints. Per statue, we were not allowed any alcohol consumption on premise and that did not seem to bother any of the members as they enjoyed their dinner.

We are shooting for an October 13th gathering. As it stands at the moment, I plan on following our traditional ham and turkey dinner for November and December. I will keep you posted as things develop.

Please be safe and keep everyone in your prayers.
